Being a rather old lady at four hundred years plus and a Grade II plus listed building, Thorpe Hall is not without her idiosyncrasies. Her floors creak a little . . . Her windows are not double glazed and therefore, prone to a draft or two . . . and she is not sound proofed – to name but a few! Like all great ladies, she asks to be treated with respect. We think that her quirks are all part of her charm and hope you agree! You can relax in the drawing room housing the Farsyde portraits over the fireplace or weather permitting, you may prefer to enjoy the grounds. Wherever you choose, we hope you always feel at home.
We are a little old-fashioned - thinking there is enough bureaucracy in the world - and therefore, do not accept credit or debit card payments at the house. Payment by cash or cheque during your stay. We accept bookings on-line (see calendar to the right), but you are also welcome contact us by telephone or email to arrange your stay. To confirm your reservation we will simply ask for a few details, e.g. mailing address, e-mail address and mobile number. We request a deposit for on-line booking and when you require three or more rooms.
Children are most welcome! Our daughter was five when we first moved here, so we know firsthand what a magical place this can be for children! If needed, we can provide a fold up bed in some of our rooms and ask for a £15 per night supplement. We can also provide a travel cot at no additional cost, but ask that you kindly provide your own linen – knowing this is often preferred for little ones.
Hoping to stay for one night and/or within 48 hours of booking? Please contact us by email or telephone (the latter is preferred for last minute stays) to check availability.
